Introducing the New Apphold Website
We’re excited to announce the launch of the brand new Apphold website! After weeks of work, we’ve built a dedicated home for the project that goes far beyond a simple landing page. Whether you’re a long-time user or discovering Apphold for the first time, the new site has something for you.
Why a New Website?
As Apphold has grown, so has the need for a proper online presence. The GitHub repository has always been the technical hub, but we wanted a place where users could learn about the project, browse documentation, and find support — all in one spot. The new website is that place.
What You’ll Find
Comprehensive Documentation
One of the biggest additions is a full documentation section covering both user and administrator topics. If you’re deploying Apphold on your server for the first time, the Installation Guide walks you through every step — from server requirements and PHP configuration to Apache and Nginx setup, Docker deployment, and SSL configuration.
For administrators, there are also dedicated pages on:
- Updating — How to keep your instance up to date with the latest releases.
- Docker — Running Apphold in a containerized environment with docker-compose, including tips on persistent data and backups.
- API Reference — Full REST API documentation with OpenAPI spec for integrating Apphold into your existing workflows.
Users will find guides on:
- Introduction — An overview of the platform, its architecture, and browser compatibility.
- Initial Configuration — Setting up your account, adding your first monitors, and configuring alert channels.
- Monitoring — Tips for setting up effective uptime checks, interpreting dashboards, and managing incidents.
Features Overview
The Features page gives you a clear picture of what Apphold offers: real-time uptime monitoring, alerting, REST API with OpenAPI spec, customizable dashboards, multi-user support, and more. It’s a great starting point if you’re evaluating Apphold against other monitoring and telemetry platforms.
Blog
You’re reading it! The blog is where we’ll share project news, tutorials, and thoughts on topics like data ownership and self-hosted monitoring. We already have a couple of posts to get you started:
- Getting Started with Apphold — A walkthrough of installing and configuring your own instance.
- Why Self-Hosted Telemetry Matters — A deeper look at why owning your monitoring data is worth considering.
Expect more posts in the future as the project continues to evolve.
