Application Settings

Administrators can configure application-wide settings that affect how Apphold works for all users.

Accessing Application Settings

Application settings are available only to administrators. Navigate to Settings in the application menu to access them.

General Settings

Application Name

Customize the name displayed in the application header and browser title. This is useful if you want to brand Apphold for your organization.

Default Language

Set the default language for new user accounts. Individual users can override this in their personal settings.

Date Format

Choose how dates are displayed throughout the application. Common formats include:

  • YYYY-MM-DD — 2025-01-15
  • DD/MM/YYYY — 15/01/2025
  • MM/DD/YYYY — 01/15/2025

Monitoring Settings

Default Check Interval

Configure the default interval for new monitors. This determines how frequently Apphold checks the availability of monitored services (e.g. every 1, 5, or 15 minutes).

Alert Thresholds

Set global default thresholds for alert notifications, such as the number of consecutive failures before an alert is triggered and response time limits.

Notification Preferences

Configure default notification channels (email, webhooks) and delivery preferences for downtime alerts.

Security Settings

Session Timeout

Configure how long a user session lasts before requiring re-authentication. Shorter timeouts are more secure but less convenient.

Password Requirements

Set minimum password requirements for user accounts, such as minimum length and complexity rules.

User Registration

By default, only administrators can create new user accounts. This ensures that only authorized people have access to your Apphold installation.

Tip: For team deployments, create individual accounts for each user rather than sharing credentials. This ensures proper data isolation and audit trails.

Database Settings

Database configuration is typically set during installation. If you need to change your database connection settings, edit the configuration file on the server.

Caution: Modifying database settings incorrectly can make Apphold inaccessible. Always back up your configuration before making changes.
